Double date

August 18, 2007

Kyle and I went to the Speakeasy last night with a former coworker and his wife. I’d never been to this restaurant/lounge before. It’s in a converted old building with lots of character. The ambiance and food was great, although the jazz trio that was playing really didn’t need to be plugged in. It was difficult to talk over the loud music, so after dinner we sat outside for drinks and better conversation. The music was also much lovelier while it wasn’t piercing our eardrums. It was nice to go out and pretend that we’re social creatures, if only for a night.
