My vegetables are less lazy than me

The arugula is bursting.

yes, I may have disregarded the spacing directions – why do you ask?

The bok choy is standing guard.

The cilantro is escaping.

The radishes are peeking.

The sugar snap peas are grasping.

The asparagus are sprinkling.

There are also lots of snow peas, scallions, garlic, carrots, parsley, spinach, kale, chives, strawberries, and lettuce growing happily taller and bigger each day.

Yesterday we took a chance and planted some warm weather seeds: eggplant, squashes (2 summer and 2 winter varieties), lemon cucumbers, beans (bush and pole), Brussels sprouts, zinnias.  Tomatoes, basil, and pepper plants from a greenhouse are the last things I plan to add for now.  Until I get to the farmer’s market and find more I must squeeze in with a shoe horn.

With our extra garden space this year, I gave the boys a plot of their own to plant whatever they chose.  Yesterday, they poked their popcorn and pumpkin seeds into the dirt with great excitement.  Now grow, grow grow!
